We will always be explicit about what we expect from you during and after the research and what you can expect from us. Research will only move forward with signed consent for each project

We will remind you and confirm your session ahead of time. If your availability changes please let us know.  Arrive 5-10 minutes early so that we can begin the session on schedule

Changes to a scheduled session

Attending a session

In some studies, we recruit extra ‘back up’ participants for unforeseen changes (e.g. if someone is running very late, or fails to arrive).
‘Floaters’ are one backup option where the recruited ‘floater’ is required to be present and available for a given time period in case of any late changes. If the scheduled attendees all arrive as planned, a floater may not be required to attend the session. Floaters are compensated for their time irrespective of whether they are called into a session or not.

Session information

If you are attending an in person session, please arrive at the venue 5-10 minutes early. There is often a receptionist who will greet you and show you to the waiting area until the session is ready to begin.

If you are attending an online sessions, please join 5-10 mins ahead of the scheduled time. You will be placed into the virtual waiting room until the moderator is ready to begin.

Our moderator will run through an introduction to explain the research being conducted and take any questions you might have. Sessions are casual, and should feel like an extended conversation as the moderator runs through the series of questions that they have.

Most of our sessions are individual interviews, so you will be the only participant. There will also be a moderator and a note taker in the room.
Occasionally, there may be other colleagues or clients who will observe the sessions - either from a separate room, or through recordings of the session
In all cases, your identity is not revealed and the consent form we send you will detail who exactly may see your interview.
